Knowledge Management
At Quality Assistance, knowledge is a strategic asset. Our Knowledge Management (KM) framework ensures that the scientific, regulatory and technological expertise needed to support pharmaceutical innovation is continuously strengthened, shared and applied across the organisation.
This enables our teams to deliver consistent, high‑value support throughout the development of complex medicines, including biotherapeutics, new chemical entities, cell & gene therapies / ATMPs, vaccines and nanomedicines.
What Knowledge Management means at Quality Assistance
Our KM framework is a company‑wide system that structures how expertise is captured, maintained and transferred. It focuses on the five core dimensions essential to our mission:
- Pharmaceutical knowledge: full understanding of product lifecycles and clients’ operating context
- Regulatory expertise: alignment with ICH guidelines, EMA/FDA expectations and GxP principles
- Scientific competence: analytical sciences, method development and application across drug categories
- Technological mastery: proficiency with equipment, laboratory environments and digital tools
- Relational excellence: communication, collaboration and stakeholder interaction supporting project success
Together, these dimensions ensure a consistent baseline of expertise.
Why Knowledge Management matters
A dedicated ecosystem
Knowledge Management at Quality Assistance is enabled by the Pharma Academy which is a combination of infrastructures, people and tools.
The Pharma Academy, a core pillar
The Pharma Academy transforms our KM principles into practice through structured training and development programmes designed to support all career stages.
With over 650 m² of dedicated training facilities, including three training laboratories, our Academy provides a complete environment for theoretical learning and hands‑on practice. It supports the development of foundational knowledge as well as more the most advanced scientific and analytical skills.
The team behind
Knowledge Management at Quality Assistance is coordinated by the Training team and supported by experts across the organisation.
The Training team designs and manages learning pathways, from onboarding to continuous development and ensures programmes remain clear, structured and aligned with day‑to‑day operations.
Experts from Scientific Operations, R&D and Innovation and Compliance contribute with content, deliver practical sessions and share field experience. Their involvement keeps training close to real project needs and regulatory expectations.
Together, they create a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared, updated and applied in practice. This approach helps teams acquire the right skills at the right time.
Digital tools enabling KM
Our KM approach is supported by internally developed systems that comply with pharmaceutical requirements, including:
- LxP (Learning Experience Platform) for structured learning paths and competency management
- EDM (Electronic Document Management) ensuring access to controlled, up‑to‑date knowledge and documentation
These tools ensure that the right knowledge is available to the right people at the right time.
A culture built on shared knowledge
Knowledge Management is rooted in the values that guide Quality Assistance: respect, engagement and excellence. Our experts actively contribute through mentoring, training and collaboration, ensuring that expertise is continuously developed and accessible across the organisation.
