Nicolas Theys

Nicolas was appointed Chief Operations Officer at Quality Assistance in 2024. He brings over 15 years of experience in the development, manufacturing, characterisation, and control of novel biological entities, acquired in both academic and industrial settings.

Before joining Quality Assistance, Nicolas served as Chief Operating and Technology Officer at a Belgian biotech company specialising in advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs). In this role, he led preclinical, CMC, and industrialisation departments, successfully advancing several innovative candidates from early development through to Phase III clinical trials in both Europe and the United States.

Nicolas holds a PhD in Life Sciences from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) in Belgium and completed postdoctoral research at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the University of Glasgow, and UCL. Since 2008, he has also been an invited lecturer in biochemistry and cellular physiology at several universities, actively contributing to the training of future scientists.

As COO, Nicolas oversees the company’s operational strategy and execution, ensuring alignment between scientific excellence, regulatory compliance, and business performance across all analytical activities.
