TapeStation 4150 Automated electrophoresis platform
The TapeStation 4150 system (Agilent) is an automated electrophoresis platform designed for the quality control of DNA and RNA samples. It combines an instrument, data processing software, reagents and ScreenTape devices to deliver precise evaluation of nucleic acid size, quantity and integrity.
ADVANTAGES OF THE EQUIPMENT
Compared to traditional gel electrophoresis, the TapeStation 4150 offers several clear advantages:
- Minimal sample and reagent usage, requiring only 1–2 µL per sample
- Fast analysis, with results obtained in 1–2 minutes per sample
- Simplified workflow using ScreenTape technology to reduce hands-on time
- Contamination-free operation, with 16 individual lanes per ScreenTape
- Flexible throughput, allowing any number of samples with a consistent cost per sample
USE CASES
The TapeStation 4150 system is widely used in genomic workflows for next-generation sequencing (NGS) library quality control, integrity assessment of RNA and DNA using RIN or DIN values, and residual DNA analysis to measure concentration and fragment size in cell-based products.
