5 weeks to explore new paths: our electric bikes
At Quality Assistance, professional mobility relies heavily on individual vehicles. This is based on our operational needs, the variety of profiles and our location. However, this doesn’t stop us from exploring new sustainable alternatives.
In that spirit, we launched an internal initiative whereby our collaborators can borrow electrically assisted bikes free of charge for 5 weeks each year. Whether it’s for commuting, enjoy a break on the RAVel next to our laboratories, or for personal journeys in the evening or at the weekend.
We can’t claim to have changed the mobility habits of our team. However, these experiments have given some people the chance to test a concrete alternative, without constraint, and sometimes to change their perspective.
"Thanks to Quality Assistance, I had the chance to try out the electric bikes and I went back every year! It's a great opportunity to try out a bike for a month, not just during Mobility Week. The journey from Anderlues took me 45 minutes by bike compared to 25 minutes by car, and it was worth it!
Bikes are more affordable and far less polluting than cars, but, more importantly, they're good for your health and give you more time to relax on your commute. You don't need to concentrate as much as you do when driving, and the electric assistance provides the perfect amount of help to get around without breaking a sweat.
In short, it's worth trying at least once to see for yourself if you can!
P.S. A 50 km journey by bike pollutes less than a 4 km journey by car. So think about the planet and choose your bike!"

This initiative is part of our commitment to taking actions, however modest, to reduce our environmental impact. Alongside other actions in favour of sustainable development, it helps us to better understand the expectations and the obstacles associated with soft mobility.
