Autoimmune diseases: science serving people
On September 21st, 2023, Quality Assistance hosted its 4th INNOVATION scientific congress at CEME in Charleroi, dedicated to autoimmune diseases. As part of the WeCareWeAct initiative, this event brought together researchers, healthcare professionals and industry experts to explore the latest scientific advances in the field.
Autoimmune diseases affect nearly 10% of the global population, with women disproportionately affected. Behind these statistics lie real lives, individuals whose daily routines are disrupted, families who adapt, patients enduring invisible pain, facing delayed diagnoses, and treatments that continue to evolve that are still evolving.
This congress was designed for them. To better understand what patients go through. To shed light on scientific breakthroughs that could transform their lives. With the support of Prof. Michel Goldman, a panel of top-tier experts shared the latest therapeutic innovations, promising research avenues and regulatory challenges surrounding these complex conditions. The discussions highlighted not only the complexity of these diseases but also the importance of collaboration across disciplines.
Beyond data and molecules, it was the stories and conversations that left a lasting impression. Because innovation also means recognising suffering, celebrating resilience, and giving a voice to those living with illness. Behind every research project, there’s a person hoping for relief, for answers and for a better quality of life.
At Quality Assistance, we believe innovation should serve people. By supporting initiatives like this congress, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing science with purpose.
